Adult Programs
Learning is the raising of character by the broadening of vision and the deepening of feeling.

Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester offers a wide range of educational opportunities for our members. Some of our programs are ongoing, others are held from time to time, or on a one-time basis, and we are always looking for new programs to meet our members' needs. Check the calendar for scheduled events. Currently, our programs include:
- Adult Hebrew - All levels welcome. Meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
- Adult Bat Mitzvah - Taught by Rabbi Wolk, Cantor Stone, Marcie Aiuvalasit and Rabbi Bruce Freyer. Meets on Tuesday evenings.
- Book Group - Books that focus on a Jewish way of life, as well as other topics. Book group meets on the third Thursday of each month in the Temple library. Led by Marcie Aiuvalasit.
- Film Series - Sunday afternoon film and discussion that relates to both Jewish and non-Jewish issues.
- Next Step - Exploration of issues related to retirement, facilitated by Alan Terdiman and Paul Spindel.
- Outreach - Exploration of issues related to interfaith marriages. Facilitated by Linda Caigan, ACSW on Sunday mornings.
- Rabbi's Bagel Brunch - Rabbi Wolk discusses basic tenets of Reform Judaism and how they add richness to our lives. Meets monthly on Sunday mornings.
- Route 287 Judaism - An energizing break in the Westchester work-day with Rabbi Wolk leading discussions over a brown bag lunch.
- Subway Judaism - An energizing break in the New York City work-day with Rabbi Wolk leading discussions over a brown bag lunch.
- The Sayings of the Fathers: Mishna - Rabbi Wolk lectures about the wisdom of the Talmud. He discusses 2000 year-old ethical teachings, in a modern context.
- Women's Study Group - Led by Cantor Stone, new explorations of women's roles in Judaism through study and celebration of holidays. Women's Succot and Women's Seder are on the Tuesday evening preceding each holiday.
