Due to the evolving nature of the Delta variant and associated community transmission rates, everyone is required to wear masks indoors. Masks are optional when outdoors. Please be mindful of socially distancing when indoors and outdoors.

The Reopening Committee is monitoring the rapidly evolving situation with the COVID-19 Delta variant. We continue to follow the latest COVID-19 guidelines set by the CDC and Westchester County Department of Health. New York State International Travel Guidelines

As per NYS Department of Health recommendations, all unvaccinated international travelers who have not had and recovered from COVID-19 in the past 3 months are asked to get tested 3-5 days after arrival in NY and self-quarantine for 7 days;  after this quarantine period and a negative COVID test, you may attend functions at the temple.  If you are unable to be tested after arrival in NY, we ask you to quarantine for 10 days before attending any temple functions. Fully vaccinated international travelers who have not had and recovered from COVID-19 in the past 3 months are asked to get tested 3-5 days after arrival in NY and wait for a negative result before attending temple functions.

Capacity Guidelines for Programs, School, Catering & Events

Our clergy are officiating b’nei mitzvah and funerals with guest limits and catering restrictions. CEW stringently adheres to New York State guidelines, and in some cases, has additional restrictions in place for the safety of our community. Capacity guidelines can be viewed here. Of note, in order to keep everyone safe, our least restrictive operating level is currently Yellow.

Ceremonies & Service Protocols During COVID-19

As the host family, your cooperation in notifying your guests and enforcing CEW’s protocols is expected. Once you have reviewed the protocols here, please contact Temple Administrator Abbie Levitt at with any questions.

Ushering Guidelines

Ahead of b’nei mitzvah services, ushers are asked to review these guidelines in order to help keep the sanctuary space calm, quiet and safe during the service.
