New Online Arts & STEM Online Programming from the Union for Reform Judaism
URJ’s full schedule of weekday online activities through their RJ on the Go platform, includes Minecraft tutorials, visual and paper arts projects, game nights, a 3D design course, and more. All sessions are designed for students in grades 3-8 and will be led by expert staff from across URJ’s robust camping system. Alternative Winter Break with Young Judea, Repair the World & Grow Torah for Community Service Hours
Sunday, December 27 – Wednesday, December 30, 11:00am- 3:30pm
Participants will engage in Jewish and service learning, volunteer work and community building. The sessions will be facilitated by Repair the World and Grow Torah‘s educational teams, and Young Judaea’s experienced team of madrichim (counselors). The days will be divided into virtual learning and community building as well as virtual and some in-person volunteering. In congruence with our National Social Action Initiative of food insecurity, our program will focus on food justice through a Jewish lens and its intersection with racial injustice. Cost: $75. The Jews in London – 1,000 Years of History in an Hour with Tour Guide Ian Fagelson

Take a journey through the streets and alleys of London to discover the thousand-year history of the Jews in England. From the arrival of a Jewish community from Normandy in 1066/67 to the Kindertransport children of 1938/39, Jews have played important roles in the unfolding drama of British history. The host of this program asks that participants make a donation toward his favorite charities – Norwood (which helps people with learning disabilities and families in crisis) and World Jewish Relief (which helps impoverished elderly Jewish people in the former Soviet Union and people of all races and religions affected by disasters worldwide). Tenement Museum Virtual Tour: Rogarshevsky Family, 1910s

Come along for a virtual tour exploring the Rogarshevsky family, a Jewish American family from Lithuania who lived in 97 Orchard Street in the 1910s. Just like on our Sweatshop Workers building tour, a Tenement Museum Educator will virtually guide you through their home, and discuss how the family balanced their traditions with working outside the home at garment factories across the city.
