DESCRIPTION:Come discover one Jewish family’s pioneering role in trade\, 
 art collecting\, architectural patronage\, and civic engagement from the e
 arly 19th century through World War II. Paintings\, decorative arts\, illu
 minated manuscripts\, and Judaica collected by the Sassoon family explores
  themes such as discrimination\, diaspora\, colonialism\, global trade\, a
 nd war. The exhibition narrative begins in the early 1800s when David Sass
 oon\, the family patriarch\, was forced out of his home in Baghdad due to
