The headlines tell us that the American and Israeli Jewish communities are facing a schism. Can what we share as a people hold us together? Together our congregations will explore timely and complex issues facing the Jewish people in an era of power and prosperity living in two different homes. We will examine stories of Jewish peoplehood, contemporary challenges to the notion of Jewish peoplehood, and imagine new models of relationship as we thrive in two different parts of the world. Together, we’ll get beyond partisanship to the values that we all share.
This 9-session course was created by the Shalom Hartman Institute and will be taught on Zoom by Cantor Askenazi (JCCH), Rabbi Goldberg (KTI), Rabbi Goldsmith (CEW) and Rabbi Gropper (CSR). Cost: $36/congregant and $54/non-congregant.
