Prayers & Music

At most services, the prayer books Mishkan T’filah and Mishkan Hanefesh help to guide our services with their blend of traditional prayers, faithful translations, commentary, and beautiful interpretive readings. We often lift our eyes from the page for services that incorporate prayers and readings  projected onto a screen together with evocative imagery.

The music of our congregation is varied and diverse. We all feel like the melodies we grew up with must have been given to Moses on Mount Sinai – and they surely evoke strong feelings within us. At Emanu-El we strive to blend “that melody I grew up with” together with compositions contemporary and classic to help bring the meanings of our prayers to life.
